We will pick you up from your hotel or a designated meeting point between 7:30 and 8:00 am to start the Machu Picchu Car tour. We will journey through the Sacred Valley, where you will have the opportunity to witness different towns and experience climate changes from the Andes Mountain Range to tropical areas. Our first stop will be at Human Marca, where a delicious buffet lunch will be served.
After lunch, we will continue the tour by driving to Hidroelectrica, from where we will begin our hike to the town of Aguas Calientes. The hike will take approximately 2 1/2 hours. Once we reach Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu), our guide will assist you in checking into your hotel.
You will have a comfortable accommodation with a private bathroom and hot water. A delightful dinner will be served in the evening, followed by a briefing from the guide regarding the itinerary for the next day. In Aguas Calientes, you also have the option to visit the hot springs (S./5).
We will start our day early at 4:00 AM and embark on a hike to Aguas Calientes (you also have the option to take a bus for USD 12 – one way). The hike will take approximately one and a half hours. Our goal is to enter the citadel of Machu Picchu as soon as possible, allowing us to witness the majestic site as the clouds disperse and the first rays of sunlight illuminate the ancient Inca city.
Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, who is certified, you will receive a comprehensive two-hour guided tour, where you will learn about the significance of each area within the citadel. Afterward, you will have some free time to explore, take photographs, or choose to hike either Huyana Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (additional tickets required).
Around 11:30 am, we will make our way back to the town of Aguas Calientes by foot, and at 1:20 pm, we will board the train to Hidroelectrica. Our transportation will be waiting for us at Hidroelectrica to take us back to the city of Cusco. We anticipate arriving in Cusco around 9:30 pm, concluding our unforgettable journey to Machu Picchu.
