The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism has created the policy against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA). The ESNNA Code and WEA TRAVEL PERU have a joint action agreement to prevent and eradicate this problem.
This program, a policy for social development and protection of vulnerable populations, is a broad and complex initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR).
It consists of raising awareness and training the entire sector in our country with the goal of preventing and ultimately eliminating the sexual exploitation of minors.
ESNNA requires adherence to a Code of Conduct, which is signed with MINCETUR. This code requires companies to publicize this initiative, its rules, and objectives. It also requires that adequate training be provided to staff and suppliers. Of course, the company commits to working in accordance with all the requirements of the Code.
Unfortunately, child trafficking is a serious problem in Peru, but one that is being combated. Through ethically responsible tourism, PERU AMAZON TRIPS brings development, economic activity, and an improved standard of living to the destinations we visit. In this vein, our commitment to the ESNNA program also allows us to help reduce and eradicate the sexual exploitation of children.
